now let me share you what BAD looks like ...... I have been thinking about what sort of exhaust I should be getting after the Power Craze bug bit me. And one day fortuitously, I heard an EVO VII parking in the vicinity. I had the chance to listen to his HKS Hiper exhaust in an enclosed carpark. OH BOY, do I love that low grunt sound of it! However at that point of time, I cerebrated that it was perhaps a tad too loud for me. It was some weeks later when the EVO VII drove past me again but that time much quietly. I was thinking, 'Hahaha ( aiya...so bad of me )...He must be back on the stock exhaust again '. Curious to confirm my suspicion, I waited until after the car was parked and the owner left. I causally took my time, strolled over and squinted at the white EVO VII's fanny. NOOooooo... WAY! It was still that freaking BIG HKS Hiper exhaust tip! You could stuff a cat ( yes the animal ) right in! But wait, what's that additional bolts and nuts at both side of the exhaust tip holding a buffer? It was the HKS bolt-on silencer. I thought, "Wow …that's cool, I must have that." |

The JASMA-approved Muffler is a shiny piece of canon-like canister with a 120mm exhaust tip. Check out the reflection off the ground on the exhaust tip. The full set of Hiper exhaust is a straight thru 3" to 3.1" to the muffler. It is ceramic coated to prevent heat and rust. The Muffler canister is also race tilt at an angle inspied by the renown GT race at Japan. The tilt contributes to the alleviation of severe bends in the piping assisting flow rate. |

Seen below is the HKS direct bolt on silencer. The silencer is able to reduce noise level to a decibel of 92db which is very acceptable in Singapore. So Who says one cannot have a big bore exhaust and enjoy In Car Entertainment (ICE) as well. >^_^< |

After having the HKS Hiper for some time, I must say that the sound of the exhaust really grows on me. I really love the low grunt sound at idle and the scream that encapsulated the cabin whilst on boost. I love the combination of the spooling turbo whistling shriek, the swirling sound of the HKS air induction kit, and the seamless shriek from the HKS exhaust during its acceleration and the rumbling drumming drone at deceleration. No Doubts on THAT, I love my HKS Hiper Exhaust system ! In fact I love the sound so much, I even had it recorded on video!!! |
